A Unique Territory

Porto di Mola is set in a very particular territory, on the slopes of the Roccamonfina volcano and with its gaze towards the Appia. A magical place, rich in history and with a strong wine-growing vocation. It is located near an ancient Roman trading port found in an archaeological excavation of 1992, which inspired the name of the company. In these territories, wine and oil were therefore already transported in ancient times and this tradition lives on in the modern Port of Mola.

The Origins

The project was born from an idea of Peppì Esposito and Antonio Capuano, who started working on these lands in 1988. Over time Antimo Esposito, son of Peppì, following in the footsteps of the two founders, became passionate about the project. He started pursuing it with ardour and the aim to create ever new and high quality wines. That dream and those aspirations have now become a solid reality, which grows every day thanks to an international export network.

Taste Of Tradition

The company occupies about 300/ha with vineyards, olive groves and large
green areas. At the center of the company is the cellar of about 2000/sqm.
From the sober and essential environment, it is the place where Antimo personally
follows all the processing phases of the products. To the cellar was added the oil mill
that cold-works the olives to preserve all the organoleptic characteristics of the oil.

Passion

The passion for tradition and the interest in technological innovation are, nowadays, the fulcrum of Porto di Mola's activities.  The production perfectly combines the processing of natural grapes with constant oenological experimentation, always creating new products with exceptional organoleptic characteristics. Antimo Esposito strongly believes in this project, whose historicity and modernity are told every day to the visitors of the estate, to convey all the secrets of a cutting-edge company.

Research

The main objective of the Cantina Porto di Mola is the promotion of the area in which it is located,
precisely for this reason it is completely focused on the products of our territory. We are referring, in particular, to the Bariletta plantation, typical of Rocca d'Evandro and to the Falanghina and Aglianico, spokesperson for Campania vines.

The Structure

The cellar, of approximately 2000 m2, is located in the center of the estate. A simple and essential place, designed to satisfy the production of the 60 hectares of vineyards in which Antimo, with the oenologist Arturo Erbaggio, follows every processing phase, from the extraction of the juice to the final bottling. Every year the Porto di Mola winery produces thousands of bottles, the result of the volcanic soils which give our wines a unique structure and a flavor with a thousand nuances.

Production

In the vineyard, mechanical and manual work are combined for an impeccable result. The management of the land is completely mechanical, while the dry and green pruning derive from the manual work of our team of experts. Rigorous discipline, in all phases of production, guarantees a wine made according to tradition, genuine and refined, the final result of a great passion for this profession and the generosity of the land.
